ON THE ROAD TO KONA...PRIVATE GROUP TOUR
$45 Per Person in a Mini Bus (25 Needed) and $55 Per Person In a Van (14
Maximum)
We
will begin the journey by visiting two of Kona’s gorgeous white sand
beaches. We then proceed south to witness the marvelous scenic view of
Kealakekua Bay from the famous "Painted Church". This St. Benedicts
Catholic Church is beautiful and the ceiling, columns, and walls depict
Bible scenes painted by Belgium-born priest Father Velghe.
The second part of the trip will take you to Pu’uhonua O Honaunau
National Historic Park also known as "City of Refuge". You will be
guided through the Royal Grounds and the place of refuge (Pu’uhonua). It
is here that people who violated "Kapu" (broke the Hawaiian laws) sought
to be absolved of their death sentences (the single punishment for all
crimes.)
But that's not all.... We will follow the aromatic rich smell of the
Kona coffee mill where you can sample the coffee for which Kona is
famous. There is a small museum here where you can catch a glimpse of
the historic culture that molded the modern day Kona coffee plantations.
