KEALAKEKUA BAY SNORKEL TRIP
$99 Per Person
On Hawaii’s Kona coast, about 30 minutes by boat from Kailua, Kealakekua
Bay is designated a Marine Life Conservation District. This
well-developed and colorful coral reef, one of Hawaii’s finest, rife
with fish life, slopes steeply from shore into the crystal clear, deeper
water. Visibility reaches depths of 100 feet here.
After your captain selects the best snorkeling site, your friendly crew
offers snorkeling tips and helps you in and out of the warm, inviting,
blue waters. You’ll learn names of your new fish acquaintances, perhaps
meet a spinner dolphin or two, or swim with a Hawaiian green sea turtle.
In addition to transportation, professional guide/crew, and snorkeling
equipment, a delicious lunch – sandwiches, upcountry vegetables,
tropical fruits, cheeses, pasta, famous Maui-style potato chips and, of
course, white chocolate Macadamia nut cookies for dessert – caps the
return trip to the dock. Complimentary soft drinks, water, beer and ale
and sparkling wines are also part of the trip.
Be forewarned...Kealakekua Bay is said to be the home of
Lono-i-ka-makahiki, the Hawaiian fertility god.
