ROAD TO HANA LOCAL STYLE...KAHULUI
DEPARTURE
$103 Per Person, $94 For Seniors, and $79 For Children
The winding road to Hana possesses a
mystical quality and is certainly not a drive you would want to take
yourself. It is the most famous and desired drive in all Hawaii. You
will feel as though you are winding through the Garden of Eden on this
slow, meandering trip through a lush paradise. Enjoy a continental
breakfast as you begin your journey.
Your excursion will consist of breathtaking waterfalls like you have
never seen before. It so happens that many of the most gorgeous
waterfalls are close to the road itself, giving you access to fantastic
views of them. If you know where to look, it is likely you will see six
falls between Kahului and Hana.
Another fascinating sight are the lava tubes created when lava from
volcanic vents forms a river that crusts over on top. These tubes can
transport lava for over 20 miles and they are certainly a sight to see.
Also included is a picnic stop for a delicious, made to order deli
lunch.
A stop will be made at Haleakala National Park in Kipahulu, also called
Ohe'o Gulch or Seven Sacred Pools. This series of waterfalls and pools
at the shoreline is the most popular attraction in all of east Maui.
Weather permitting, this tour circles the base of Haleakala (Maui's
sleeping volcano) on dirt roads without bridges.
Tedeschi Winery, with its lovely tasting room, is also an interesting
stop. Here you can taste and purchase wine, even some made from
pineapple.
Upon request, your guide will even take you to Charles Lindbergh's
grave.
